TUNE IN TO LEARN:

THE TRUTH ABOUT CAPITAL CAMPAIGNS. You don’t need a bunch of wealthy board members. Capital campaigns are useful for more than simply buying a property. But, capital campaigns are not for paying bills.

You don’t need wealthy board members to run a successful campaign. What you need is a compelling vision and excited champions who believe in it.” (Amy Eisenstein)

ON THE 15-YEAR PLAN. A capital campaign “exercises a really important muscle for your board, which is to think in this very high altitude.” (Joan Garry)

Every 10 or 15 or 20 years, you should be thinking about a capital campaign as a way to really grow your organization.” (Amy Eisenstein)

HOW TO PLAN. You might consider a feasibility study. You might need to examine your existing donor base. You most definitely need to think of capacity building and growth for your organization.

“I wish the term feasibility study had been named something else. I would call it a campaign planning and readiness study. Then everybody would want to do it.” (Amy Eisenstein)
