Well it’s not accurate to say that I am completely undecided. I decided before George Bush stole the presidency in 2000 that he would be an awful president. I take little satisfaction in the “I told you so” element of that.
But now here I am seven days before the New Jersey Democratic primary and I find myself undecided. In my mind there are two very good, very different choices. I feel like the scarecrow when he first meets Dorothy on the Yellow Brick Road. Dorothy has two paths to choose from and wonders out loud which way to go. “Pardon me,” he says, pointing in one direction “That is a very nice way.” Moments later, he points in the opposite direction. “It’s pleasant down that way, too.” The scarecrow of course has no brain and thus cannot make decisions. He finally points in both directions simultaneously - “Of course people do go both ways!”
Kind of how I feel. Except the brainless part.
I’m going back and forth. I’m asking everyone their opinions. I’m reading everything. I’m even watching FoxNews. And I still feel like I could go both ways. Or that I want to go both ways. I want them both.
Until Super Tuesday, visit www.visiblevote08.logoonline.com and follow my thinking out loud. And feel free to share your opinions.
