my mom is the short one on the left.
I’ve mentioned before that I write for www.nj.com/parenting. It’s the parenting blog of The Newark Star Ledger. This morning I wrote about communicating with your parents.
“My mom and I speak every morning between 8 and 8:30. We came up with the idea of talking daily after a friend of hers fell in her apartment and spent a scary day and a half unable to get up. And it turned out that no friend or family called or checked in on her during that period. My mom lives on her own (except for her comically overweight cat) and so the story scared both of us. We agreed that a daily check in call would be a good idea.”
