We had just woken up from a nap. It had been a very long day. On our feet since early morning, nearly trampled to death working our way to the security post at the Capitol, and having the experience of a lifetime.
We hobbled into the living room and turned on the tv. It was fortuitous. The Lesbian and Gay Band Association. CNN was cutting back and forth between the parade and the viewing stand – they seemed quite fascinated with his saluting style.
I was groggy. Maybe I rubbed my eyes for a moment too long. When I looked up, I saw this. This is not… I repeat this is NOT the Lesbian Gay Band Association. It is the Azalea Trail Maids representing the state of Alabama. Oddly placed directly behind the LGBA.
But I would like you to imagine for just a moment that you turned on the tv believing that this was the Lesbian and Gay Band Association.
